In our offence-driven culture, the message of forgiveness can seem ludicrous. "Why would I forgive? Doesn't that let the person off the hook, and open yourself up to more of the same treatment?"

Yet it is the nature of God to have mercy for those who stumble and fall. Don't be afraid, He is perfectly just. But He also longs to show mercy. After all, how many of us want God to hold all our sins against us? Crickets.
